On 21st August, Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO was privileged to participate in a one-day follow-up meeting convened by CEDC Kenya, bringing together Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), media practitioners and social media influencers to reflect on electoral governance.
The meeting built on the three-day training held from 26th–28th May 2026, providing an important opportunity for participants to share experiences, reflect on progress and strengthen collaboration ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
A key message emerged strongly from the discussions: peace must remain at the centre of every electoral process.
Participants emphasised the importance of responsible civic engagement, peaceful participation, tolerance and respect for diverse views. The discussions also highlighted the critical role of media practitioners and social media influencers in promoting responsible communication and accurate information, especially at a time when misinformation, disinformation and inflammatory content can quickly heighten tensions.

As Kenya prepares for the 2027 elections, we believe that building a culture of peace and responsible participation requires all of us;CSOs, the media, citizens, political actors and communities to play our part.
Peace is not just an electoral agenda; it is a shared responsibility.
