On 13th August, as Kenya continues the countdown to the 2027 General Elections, Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO was privileged to participate in an important engagement with political aspirants in Busia County, convened by CEDC Kenya.
The forum brought together political aspirants, representatives from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), civil society organisations, sitting MCAs, election observers and administrators, as well as representatives from the Embassy of Denmark and the Kenya Youth Sounding Board.
The engagement focused on equipping current and aspiring candidates with practical knowledge on candidate requirements, effective political campaigning, party politics, ethical standards, and strategies for overcoming challenges such as political violence and resource gaps.
It also provided a valuable space for candid conversations on the realities of political participation and the importance of promoting peaceful, inclusive and responsible leadership.
As Kenya prepares for the next electoral cycle, Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO recognises the importance of creating spaces where political actors can engage, learn and reflect on their responsibilities in strengthening democracy.
We are proud to contribute to conversations that promote integrity, accountability, meaningful participation, peaceful elections and inclusive leadership.
The journey to 2027 starts with informed, responsible and peaceful political participation.
