Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO Participates in Sensitization Meeting on Draft Community Groups Regulations 2025

On Thursday, 25th September 2025, Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO, together with other members of the Busia Chapter Community of Practice (COP), participated in a sensitization meeting at Farmview Hotel, Busia, supported by Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF).

The purpose of the meeting was to:

1. Discuss the draft Community Groups Regulations, 2025.

2. Prepare and align inputs ahead of the upcoming Public Participation forum in Kakamega.

The session which was being faacilitated by officials from the social development office led by Mr. Roy Okeyo brought together community institutions, including Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and related groups. As an active member of COP Busia Chapter,we as Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO, recognize the importance of aligning our work with the Government of Kenya’s policy direction and we were honoured to contribute to the discussions on how the proposed regulations will shape the operations, governance and sustainability of grassroots organizations.

The session also created space for participants to identify common concerns and develop collective submissions to ensure that the voice of community groups from Busia is well represented during the regional-level forum.

COP Busia Chapter remains committed to strengthening community-driven initiatives and ensuring that regulations and policies support inclusive, sustainable development.

We extend our gratitude to Dhamira Moja for convening such a timely and relevant discussion that strengthened our collective voice as community groups.
