Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO Participates in the Freedom Fund Community of Practice Workshop

Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO was delighted to take part in a three-day Community of Practice (CoP) workshop organized by The Freedom Fund from 14th–16th October 2025 at Fairways Hotel, Kisumu. The workshop was attended by Our Project Officer Antony Bwire.

The workshop brought together partners implementing the Not Invisible Anymore (NIA) program and the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) consultant, Move on Africa, to reflect on collective progress, share experiences and explore opportunities for greater impact and scalability.

Key Highlights and Learnings:

1. Collective Successes and Experiences:

Partners showcased inspiring success stories of how their interventions are transforming lives within communities and shared practical lessons from implementation.

2. Shared and Unique Challenges:

Discussions revealed both common and program-specific challenges affecting efficiency and scalability, encouraging collaborative problem-solving among partners.

3. Innovation and Scalability:

The sessions emphasized the importance of creativity and innovation in extending program reach, especially with limited resources.

4. Data and Reporting Insights:

It was observed that some partners may be underreporting certain achievements due to use of less-relevant indicators. Partners were guided to refine their M&E frameworks to better capture the true impact of awareness creation and behavioral change efforts.

5. Human-Centered Design (HCD) Communication:

Busara and Kangaroo Media led a session on effective communication under HCD approaches, reminding partners that communication indicators are process indicators that drive behavioral change. This reinforced the importance of tailoring messages to specific audiences within NIA programs.

6. Enhanced M&E Approaches:

Move on Africa supported partners in aligning process and outcome indicators and refining implementation strategies to strengthen measurable impact.

Looking Ahead

The final day of the workshop focused on scalability and impact — how to expand reach and effectiveness while maximizing available resources.

This Community of Practice has been an invaluable platform for shared learning, reflection and collaboration among NIA partners.
