Last week, Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO actively participated in key engagements focused on advancing child protection, justice and welfare in Busia County. Below is a recap of our activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Sub-County Advisory Committee Meeting on Child Protection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baridi Kwa Baridi Women CBO attended the Sub-County Advisory Committee meeting, where key stakeholders convened to discuss pressing issues affecting children and review progress made since the last quarterly meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Assessment of the current conditions in Charitable Children\u2019s Institutions (CCIs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Discussions on the ongoing Care Reforms as some CCIs undergo phasing out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Updates on the launch of Children\u2019s Service Month<\/strong> on 21st November, aimed at clearing the backlog of children\u2019s cases and increasing awareness of children\u2019s rights and protection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    As an organization committed to safeguarding children, we reaffirmed our dedication to supporting these reforms and ensuring that children\u2019s rights remain a priority across our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Celebration of Children\u2019s Service Month in Busia Sub-County<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We joined judiciary staff and various child protection stakeholders in commemorating Children\u2019s Service Month<\/strong>, themed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cSecuring justice for every child: Enhancing multi-agency collaboration and increasing budgetary allocation to combat child abuse.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Judiciary emphasized its commitment to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Prioritizing children\u2019s cases<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Giving special attention to matters involving children<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Addressing pending cases without delay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Handling cases involving children in conflict or in contact with the law<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through psychosocial support, vocational training and community sensitization, we continue to stand for the protection and empowerment of every child. \ud83d\udce3 Justice delayed is justice denied<\/em>.. Every child matters. Every child counts<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Quarterly Sub-County Child Labour Committee Meeting<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      We also participated in the quarterly Sub-County Child Labour Committee meeting held at Breez Hotel. The session brought together key stakeholders to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Review progress made since the last quarterly meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Evaluate the action plan previously developed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Discuss challenges encountered in addressing child labour within the sub-county<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
