HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
Today marks the final day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and it also coincides with Human Rights Day a powerful reminder that ending GBV is not just a campaign, it is a HUMAN RIGHTS obligation.
Why Human Rights Day?
On 10th December 1948, the world adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a landmark document that affirmed that every person is entitled to dignity, equality and freedom regardless of gender, age, status or background.
77 years later, we celebrate and defend those rights. It reminds us that every human has rights that are universal, inalienable, indivisible and non-negotiable

W e recognize the fact that Gender-based violence is one of the clearest violations of human rights.
The 16 Days of Activism highlight the need to:
✔️ Protect survivors’
✔️ End harmful practices
✔️ Promote gender equality
✔️ Hold perpetrators accountable
✔️ Strengthen community awareness and action
As we close the 16 days of activism today, let us be reminded that
A world free from GBV is a world where human rights are respected.
Empowering women and girls strengthens human rights for all.
16 days is not enough for this fight ,EVERY DAY we must continue the fight.
let us refuse selective justice. Justice must be fair, timely, and for all survivors.
Let’s continue this work beyond today in our homes, communities, institutions and online spaces.
